Lynne & Matt - Engagement Session
I have such an amazing story to tell about Lynne and Matt. Lynne and Matt are a determined couple who know exactly what they want. When they were in the very early stages of planning for their wedding, they knew that they wanted their wedding in the Shakespeare Garden at the Portland Rose Gardens. However, you can only reserve a space within the garden during the same year as your wedding. Being that Lynne and Matt are getting married on August 1st of this year, they could not officially reserve their space until 1/1/08. This meant that they needed to wait in line at the Portland Building on New Years Eve. They arrived at 11pm at night and were in fact the very first people in line. It stayed that way until around 4am when couple after couple began arriving to form a line that wrapped around the city block. Lynne and Matt's determination paid off and they were able to reserve their first choice spot for their wedding. So, we look forward to seeing Lynne and Matt at the Rose Garden on August 1st. We went out to Cannon Beach for their recent engagement session. Here are some highlights from the shoot:

Kristan & Kyle - 6/7/08
Kristan & Kyle's wedding was an absolute blast. Holly was with the bride at the Governor Hotel to capture all of the getting ready excitement with the women. I was at the Old Laurelhurst Church capturing all of the chaos with the guys. Holly and I coordinated with each other to ensure the bride and groom did not see each other before the wedding. Then, after the ceremony we photographed the family formals and then I rode off with the bride and groom in a gorgeous Bentley. We stopped throughout the downtown Portland area for special portraits of just the bride and groom. I loved having the opportunity to spend some extra time with the couple -- creating some exciting urban type portraits. The Bridgeport Brewhouse was beautifully decorated. Mandi and her assistant from Blush did an outstanding job coordinating all of the events for the day. When we arrived at the Brewhouse, everything was set to go for the couple to make their grand entrance and to roll right into their first dance. Kristan & Kyle choreographed the most amazing first dance. Guests were in complete awe as the couple tore up the dance floor. It was so exciting to watch. Then, Kyle surprised everyone with a very touching slideshow filled with images and video of both the bride and groom when they were younger. Guests were additionally treated to mounds and mounds of amazing candy and great dance music. Congratulations Kristan & Kyle. We hope you have a great time in Vegas!

Joel's Birthday Party
Joel invited friends and family to L'Heure Bleue (the private dining room at Bluehour) to join him in celebration of his 40th birthday. The party began at 6:13pm on 6/13. When guests arrived, they were asked to write one word that described Joel. As I photographed the evening, I went around to the various guests and asked what word they used to describe Joel. What you see below are just a few of the many descriptors that were used. Endless plates of hors d'oeuvres and fabulous cocktails and wine made for a fun filled evening. Guests were entertained with various stills and video snipets from Joel's earlier years -- did you know that Joel was on The Wheel of Fortune? A huge thank you to Rachelle from Delightful Occassions for all of her assistance with the organization of the party.
