The last time we saw Cerise and Randy was at our Annual Bride and Bride-To-Be Soiree back in January of this year. So, having the chance to re-connect for an engagement shoot was a great way to spend part of our weekend. Cerise and Randy are well on their way with the planning of their wedding. They are getting married on 9/6/08 and were wanting to send their Save the Date cards about 6 months in advance. Holly and I have been busily editing the work to get it to you asap.
The great news is that the edit is complete!
Your DVD archive of the engagement photos is going out in the mail to you today (I can say that because it is just past midnight right now). And to view your images online, all you have to do is click right HERE.
Plus, we have an extra surprise for you!! Click HERE.

Cake Walk Events - Vendor Spotlight
In addition to photographing Sarah and Todd for their Save the Date session and Cerise and Randy for their Engagement Session, Holly and I met up with Arika and Rachel from Cake Walk Events. Arika contacted me a few days ago looking to update their website with some recent pics of the two of them. I recently noticed that the cherry blossoms were in full bloom down by the waterfront and suggested that we meet there for the session. Hanging out with these two always puts me in a good mood. Both Arika and Rachel are filled with lots of energy and AMAZING ideas. Holly and I are very much looking forward to working with them this summer for Lynne & Matt's wedding on August 1st. I really appreciate the personalized service that Arika and Rachel provide, assisting couples with fully realizing their dreams and desires for their wedding day.

Sarah & Todd - Save the Date
Holly and I had a fabulous triple photo session day today that began with Sarah & Todd up by the Hoyt Arboretum area (which happens to be one of our favorite locations for save the date and engagement photo sessions). The weather was absolutely perfect today and we made sure to take full advantage. Holly and I appreciated the opportunity to spend some quality time with Sarah and Todd, who in just the next couple of weeks will be re-connecting with us for their full blown engagement session!

Fabulous Invitations - Vendor Spotlight
Last week I connected with Jacquelyn from A Swank Affair to discuss some of the latest trends in the wedding industry. During our conversation, she showed me some of her latest invitation designs and when I had the opportunity to see her full product line, I simply had to share some of my favorites with all of you. Jacquelyn's artistry extends well beyond invitations to include such items as wedding programs, menu, escort, and place cards, save the date cards, and many more options. Here are some of my favorites and please make sure to meet with Jacquelyn in person to see her full range of offerings:

Sarah J Anderson Elementary's 2008 Theater Club
Paul had the opportunity to videotape and photograph Sarah J Anderson Elementary's 2008 Theater Club performance of "Funky Fairy Tales." Over 50 students participated in the unique production and re-telling of such tales as Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and Jill and the Beanstalk, and others.
Those interested in purchasing a photograph from the evening's performance, may do so by clicking HERE.
A full length DVD of the performance is also available for sale. If you have not already purchased a DVD of the performance and would like to do so, simply email Paul directly at paul@paulrichstudio.com. The cost of the DVD is just $10.

The Los Angeles Times
For those of you who did not have a chance to read Friday's LA Times, here is an excerpt from an article written about Holly's photography work in LA:
-- "The Age of Innocence" at DNJ groups the work of four lesser-known photographers who address the vexed condition of childhood. The show holds some nice surprises, particularly in the work of Pamela Mayers-Schoenberg and Holly Andres...Andres, from Portland, Ore., presents large color tableaux based on childhood memories as filtered through the influence of the staged photography of Gregory Crewdson, among others. She is a filmmaker too, and the pictures read as carefully orchestrated stills, set pieces hinting at deeper dramas. The most affecting images feature girls rehearsing prescribed notions of womanhood. One girl studies a color-coordinated array of paper-doll-like cutouts, another sets a table with a classic meal of molded jello and canned corn. The girls aspire toward grace but seem slightly melancholy, as if visibly burdened by the constraints of societal expectation. -- written by Leah Ollman

She has assembled this blog as a resource for other brides who are planning for their wedding as well. A recent "Real Wedding" article was published on Myra and Matt's wedding (a couple who we photographed in September of 2007).
Myra's wedding was infused with numerous DIY projects and ideas that truly personalized her wedding day. To view the first segment of the article, click HERE. Additional photos from the wedding were included as a follow-up blog post and can be viewed by clicking HERE.
Ann & Ian - March 2, 2008
Timberline Lodge, Oregon's very own destination wedding spot, is a wedding location unlike any other. Nestled midway to the summit of Mt. Hood at an elevation of 6,600 feet, the lodge stands as a tribute to the rugged spirit of the Northwest. The experience of getting married at the lodge is drastically different whether it is during the summer or winter months. For Ann and Ian, the decision was simple. As avid telemark skiers, winter at Timberline became the perfect combination for their wedding celebration. The weather was absolutely perfect with bright crisp sunshine streaming in to the Raven's Nest during the ceremony. Then, later in the afternoon, we strapped on some skis and enjoyed a post-wedding skiing photo session. Ann & Ian have hit the slopes for their honeymoon. They are up in Canada blazing trails as the newly Mr. and Mrs.

Libbi & Erik - March 1, 2008
Saturday's warm sunshine mixed with intermittent rain showers created the perfect weather concoction for Libbi & Erik's wedding. We began the day at the Atkinson Memorial Church in Oregon City. Following the ceremony, guests headed over to The Aerie at Eagle Landing for cocktails and dinner. We arrived at The Aerie just in time for some romantic portraits by the sunset. Then, once inside, the party really kicked off with some humorous toasts, amazing food, and fabulous dancing. Congratulations to Libbi and Erik! They are off on their honeymoon enjoying some great Hawaiian sun.
