Kate & Dan - Engagement Session

Kate and Dan flew in from Ohio this past week to spend some time with family and to work on the preparations for their wedding on August 17, 2008. We have been emailing each other back and forth to solidify details and it was great to finally have the opportunity to meet in person. Kate and Dan asked to have their engagement session while they were in town so that they could use their photos for save the date cards. Although the photos don't show it, it was quite cold outside when we shot on Saturday. So, in between takes, we had Kate and Dan throw on their jackets to keep warm. Here are some of our personal favs from the session:

Lindsay & Josh - November 3, 2007

We really lucked out for Lindsay and Josh's wedding on 11/3/07 -- the weather was absolutely perfect. We scheduled the day in such a way as to have nearly 30 minutes to spend with just the bride and groom to take pictures. We wandered throughout the Hoyt Arboretum area and took an array of pictures. Holly and I had a wonderful time at the wedding and wanted to share some of our favorites from the day.

William Rome Nobles has arrived!

We had the privilege of photographing Leah & Robert's wedding out on Canon Beach on July 15, 2006. And on November 20, 2007, little William Rome Nobles was born! Congratulations Leah and Robert. We look forward to seeing you soon to take some more pictures!

Perla & Brian - October 27, 2007

I met Perla about a year ago while shopping for a suit in downtown Portland. She was giving me candid fashion advice while at the same time cracking numerous jokes. Come to find out, she is a stand-up comedian! She and Brian were in the process of preparing for their wedding at The Portland White House and were in need of a photographer. Come to find out, I am a wedding photographer! Our conversation rapidly switched from clothing and fashion to weddings and photography.

Perla just contacted me a few days ago having returned from her honeymoon to let me know that the two of them are back in town. Perla remarked that her wedding was basically like the biggest blackout she has ever experienced without drinking any alcohol!!! I just love her humor. She commented on how great it was to have both a photographer and a videographer to document her special day. Well, the pictures are online and ready for viewing!

Paige & Mike - Engagement Session

Paige and Mike first met in law school. They would oftentimes meet up to study together (goes to show that there are more benefits to studying than just getting good grades)! They are now in their final year of law school, studying like crazy, while at the same time preparing for a wedding. Paige and Mike drove up from Salem, OR last weekend to officially book us for their wedding on 9/27/08 and to have their engagement session. Knowing that there was still some beautiful fall colors up at Hoyt Arboretum, we braved the weather and went for a brief hike. Paige and Mike make taking pictures so easy. Sarah & Andrew Engagement Session

Sarah and Andrew are getting married on August 16, 2008. Sarah asked if we could take their engagement pictures in November to capture some fall color. This past Saturday was a perfect day to go out and take pictures. Sarah and Andrew met over the internet and had their first date at Java Vivace. We headed over to the coffee shop in NW Portland to take some additional pictures during their session. If you have not been, it is a wonderful place to grab a cup of coffee. We had a great time photographing Sarah and Andrew and it was fun hearing them talk about their first date.

Todd Haynes - Portland Premiere

The non-profit organization Outside In recently contacted us to photograph a dinner reception and premiere of Todd Haynes' latest film "I'm Not There." Being movie buffs (especially Holly), we were very excited for the opportunity to be a part of the evening and to contribute to a great cause. We had an amazing dinner at Serratto, just blocks away from Cinema 21 and then were escorted by a Bob Dylan look alike to the movie premiere. "I'm Not There" is Todd Haynes' most recent film depicting various aspects of Bob Dylan's life. Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Marcus Carl Franklin, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, and Ben Whishaw all play the part of Bob Dylan. It is a must see!
